Love love love, her character. Her representation was great. She had a softness in her,.idk how the actor got that. The scene when she asked the people to look away when she did the jegi, it made me tear up a bit.
완전 사랑합니다, 그녀의 캐릭터를요. 그녀의 표현은 정말 훌륭했어요. 그녀에게는 부드러움이 있었는데, 배우가 그걸 어떻게 그렇게 잘 표현했는지 모르겠어요. 특히 그녀가 제기를 찰 때 사람들에게 시선을 돌려달라고 요청하던 그 장면은 정말 살짝 눈물이 날 뻔했어요.
As a queer person (who is also dating a trans person), at first, I was kind of scared about how the show would handle that subject, but, to be fair, it was amazing. Of course, I wished they'd cast a trans actress, but knowing that such great trans representation is included in one of the most famous series is already great. Hyun Ju was definitely one of my fav this season.
퀴어로서 (그리고 트랜스 사람과 연애 중인 사람으로서), 처음에는 이 쇼가 그 주제를 어떻게 다룰지 좀 걱정됐어요. 하지만 솔직히 말하면 정말 훌륭했어요. 물론 트랜스 배우를 캐스팅했으면 더 좋았겠지만, 이렇게 유명한 시리즈에 훌륭한 트랜스 대표성이 포함된 것만으로도 대단한 일이라고 생각해요. 현주는 이번 시즌에서 확실히 제가 가장 좋아하는 캐릭터 중 하나였어요.
One of my top three characters of the series (probably number one). She was realistic, compassionate, flawed, badass and smarter than 99% of those playing. Aside from her badassery, I didn’t expect Korea to handle a character of this description with such grace and dignity but colour me shocked. Her identity as a former military played a huge role in how she played the game, and how she pretty much decimated half the guards during the last episode stand off. If she doesn’t make it to the end of Season 3 I’d honestly find it a disservice to whoever had written such a great character…
제가 가장 좋아하는 캐릭터 중 하나이며, 아마도 1위일 겁니다. 현실적이고, 동정심 많고, 결점도 있지만 강인하며, 그 게임을 하는 사람들 중 99%보다 더 똑똑했던 캐릭터였습니다. 그녀의 강렬한 면모는 물론이고, 한국에서 이런 묘사를 가진 캐릭터를 이렇게 우아하고 품격 있게 다룰 줄은 몰랐는데 정말 놀랐습니다.
그녀가 전직 군인이라는 정체성은 게임을 플레이하는 방식과 마지막 에피소드에서 경비들을 거의 전멸시키는 장면에 큰 영향을 미쳤습니다. 만약 그녀가 시즌 3의 끝까지 살아남지 못한다면, 그렇게 훌륭한 캐릭터를 쓴 작가에게 진정 실례가 될 것 같아요.
I realized halfway through that this actor played Jae-joon in The Glory (one of the major antagonists and he was a real asshole in that series). So it was whiplash watching him play this character - I agree, one of my favorites this season and I hope she lives.
